Are you More Efficient than Effective?

Do you long to belong? No, really. Think about it.

I was listening to a podcast today about how our attachments to our identities has left us disconnected from true belonging.

The idea that we've lost touch with what makes us human - disconnected from nature ๐Ÿƒ , disconnected from neighbors, ๐Ÿ‘ฏ disconnected from animals. ๐Ÿฆ“

And so we crave belonging. And what often happens, is that longing to belong - ends up having us too attached to groups, communities, and identities that may not be reflective of who we truly are. For instance, conspiracy theories gain momentum through finding each other online.

But if you change your mind or disassociate from the group, there is a HUGE threat to the sense of belonging.

Interesting, right?

It's been a full year since I left the corporate world. Almost to the day. And not to mention, I had NO plan of what I was going to do or how I was going to provide for my family.

Just like the shedding of a skin that no longer fit, releasing that identity of a gainfully employed bad-ass working for a huge reputable company with a high stakes sought-after job was painful and ugly.

And even though new skin can be beautiful and fresh, it also really hurts to grow into.

This past year chalked up to a year FULL of UNLEARNING as much as learning. I did a whole episode on the biggest lesson I unlearned this year - it's out right now.

As a classic type-A striving workaholic, I realized that I've always been very efficient, but not effective.

Effective - to me - requires rootedness. The ability to recalibrate where you are at the center - not in the egocentric way - but in the grounded true way - where you can make more effective decisions from a place of power and sovereignty.

And it got me thinking about the power you have to reconnect again. To belong in a way that feels supported, natural, nurturing, and fertile.

I thought of a fun and simple yet POWERFUL way to exercise this reconnection. And it's by placing small bets on yourself.

Little experiments. Low stakes. BIG rewards. ๐Ÿ’ฅ ๐Ÿ’ฅ ๐Ÿ’ฅ

INVITATION: I've put together a BOLD challenge. ๐Ÿ’ฅ ๐Ÿ’ช 4 days, that's it. Starting Monday, 4/24, ending Thursday, 4/27. Totally free. I send out a quick video prompt each morning with a totally do-able challenge for you. Want in? Sign-up here. Don't sleep on this.

Personally, this has been a very vibrant few weeks. I've got a new branded color palette. I've spent countless weeks dedicated on building out my membership and mastermind, the Effective Collective.

And there's more exciting news to announce. My podcast, Late Learner has a brand NEW segment that I am SUPER EXCITED about. Actually, 2 per episode. About a minute long.

It's called the Late Learner Surprisingly Useful Fun Fact. And my big bold promise? It will be a conversation starter and it might even change your approach for the better. Yep! Will you go check it out? It's only a minute-ish long and starts out the show.

New episode is out now!
