Sick of it
Laid up on the couch most of the week, it's been pretty nice, actually.
Tested negative for COVID, strep, and flu but lost my voice anyway and still hopped up on DayQuil after a whole week.
Rescheduled interviews, cancelled meetings, cancelled hiking the tallest peak in Georgia which I was planning for last weekend (eeek! can't wait for that one).
I remember WISHING I could get sick so I would have a reason to slow down and not feel guilt about it when I was working in the corporate world.
But now? It felt good. It felt really good.
It's hard to calm your nervous system when you're always going going going.
In fact, you can be running so hard on auto-pilot, you might not even be connected to your body enough to notice when the warning lights come on.
How do you find calm in the chaos of it all? Or is it just "the way it is" and you're just used to it?
It's funny where you source your energy.
For me, I always felt like a packed schedule and the adrenaline of running everywhere made me feel productive...worthy...important.
So I kept it jam-packed. This is such an over-used muscle that feels so familiar to me, even now. I would run out of energy but at least I felt accomplished.
But I get the sense that real energy needs to be sourced not by how much we can produce or external validators, but by finding our own peace and joy. Finding our selves again.
So I did a thing.
ANNOUNCEMENT: I am super-excited about this. I put together my very first in-person mini-retreat on Feb 18 to help you find calm in the chaos. YAYAYAYAYAY!
One of my favorite parts about it is that I've designed it to not only give you a true break from the busy-ness but also some practical tools to calm your nervous system anytime you want, anywhere you want.
Join me here! Don't think about it - just say YES if it's resonating with you.
And for today's episode - I've been thinking a lot about how our body stores our trauma and stress, and how to release it.
So I invited pelvic floor physical therapist and yoga instructor Dr. Krystal Fannin to help us understand how we can release it - and you'll be surprised how that energy manifests in some ailments we don't realize our connected - but can be healed!
EP173: Stuck energy messing with your body? Dr. Krystal Fannin, PT
P.S. If you've been wanting to explore finding a little more joy where you are, join me for my inaugural mini-retreat on 2/18! It's going to be freaking amazing! ANNOUNCEMENT details in today's episode. Space is limited so grab your spot quickly!
P.P.S. Just started digging into this one and it has me provoked.
P.P.P.S. I've been so fascinated by human design lately. Have you heard of it? It's like a personality blueprint based on your time of birth. It's remarkably accurate and I'm curious. I'm a generator. What is yours? Put in your info here and let me know.
